Description

A consumer mobile app for booking intercity vehicle trips end-to-end (search a route, pick a seat, pay, track the booking, and review the trip afterward), with a built-in path for a passenger to apply to become a driver on the same platform. Built with Expo/React Native and sharing its backend and Firebase project with the driver app and both web dashboards, it's the demand side of the Khuta marketplace.

Business Need

• Booking intercity travel by phone call or physical station is slow and offers no visibility into seat availability. This digitizes the entire flow into a searchable, self-service experience.
• Passengers need trust before they pay. Trip, driver, and vehicle details are surfaced before booking, and post-trip reviews build a visible reputation layer.
• Plans change, and the app has to absorb that gracefully. Built-in cancellation policy, refund preview, and refund tracking mean a changed plan doesn't require a support call.
• Growing the driver supply is a marketing problem as much as an HR one. A 'become a driver' flow built directly into the passenger app turns the existing user base into a recruitment channel.
• A regional, Arabic-speaking market needs the app to feel native in Arabic, including local currency formatting, not an English app with translated strings bolted on.

• This is the customer-facing entry point of the Khuta platform, the app a traveler downloads to book a seat on an intercity trip.
